Zonder ooit samen in de studio hebben gezeten, schaafde U-Gene (Kraak & Smaak, U-Gene & O-Jay, Candy Dulfer) aan complete songs op basis van Aardvarck’s (Rednose Distrikt, Rush Hour) abstracte beats. Een collectie van demo’s lag jarenlang op de plank, totdat U-Gene in 2017 terug de studio in ging om de nummers die nu op Vol. 1 van dit album te vinden zijn, af te maken. De nummers op Vol. 2 zijn oorspronkelijke thuisopnames gemaakt tussen circa 2000 en 2005.
